Sunglasses Filter Ranges explained

European Standards (EN1836) and USA Standard (ANSIZ80.3) for sunglasses filter range explained

Manufacturers, when complying to European Directives, produce sunglasses with lenses that fit into one of 5 categories. These categories are specifically tailored to the amount of glare that can pass through the lens to the eye. It is important to note that even cosmetic sunglasses with almost no glare protection will offer the highest level of UVA, UVB and UVC protection (often regarded as Ageing, Burning and Cancer UV in the industry) when conforming to European Standards.
